October is here, and that means….flu vaccines at St. Luke’s! Albertson’s will again be providing vaccinations for those aged 7 and up on Sunday, October 13 from 8 am to 12:00 pm in the Office Conference Room. Bring your friends!
What vaccinations will be offered?
Flu (regular) and Flu HD (senior dose for those 65 years +).
Covid boosters- This includes the new variant, by both Moderna and Pfizer. It must be 2 months since the last dose.
Shingrix-For those aged 50 and up, 2 doses are given 2-6 months apart. If it has been longer than 6 months since the first dose, then just a second dose is needed; there is no need to restart series.
Hepatitis B-Universally recommended for anyone 19-59 years old, and anyone born BEFORE 1991 has probably not received it.
TDAP-Every 10 years for adults.
RSV- For those aged 75 and up only.
Pneumonia- For those 65 and up unless health condition (diabetes, asthma, COPD) only.

How many vaccinations can I get in one day? Here is the guidance from our contact at Albertson’s:
“Regarding the guidance on max immunization administered, when patients are traveling we tend to push the upper limits but I would not recommend. I think staying around 3-4 max is best. It also depends on the immunizations as you mentioned Shingrix and RSV tend to be more sore so I would recommend only one immunization in that arm. We can absolutely add another immunization to an Shingrix/RSV arm about an inch apart, but advise against it. If a patient is requesting for example Flu/Covid/TDAP/Pneumonia that is fine because we can do 2 immunizations in each arm.”
Is there anything else I would need?
Yes, you’ll need to bring a copy of your health insurance card (front and back) and photo ID. Please also bring your record/card from receiving previous COVID vaccinations.
