Discover St. Luke's Episcopal Church
on October 29th:
A Family-Friendly Experience
St. Luke's Episcopal Church Baton Rouge offers a warm and welcoming environment for everyone, with services tailored to diverse preferences and family needs. Here's a glimpse of what you can expect when you visit us:
8:45 AM Service: Family-Friendly and Contemporary
Our 8:45 AM service is perfect for families looking for a contemporary worship experience. This service features contemporary language and music that resonate with today's generations. It's a favorite among our young families; you'll often find them here.
We have something special for parents with children aged 4-8 during the first half of the 8:45 AM service. Our dedicated Sunday school teachers lead Children's Church, where kids follow the banner during the procession to Pope Hall to hear an age-appropriate lesson. Don't worry; they'll be back to join you during announcements.
9:45 AM: Waffle Breakfast and Lawn Games
After the 8:45 AM service, join us in Witter Hall for a delicious waffle breakfast. It's a time to connect with fellow parishioners and enjoy some good food.
We have exciting lawn games for the kids on the front lawn. It's a great opportunity for them to burn off some energy and have fun outdoors.
11:00 AM Service: Traditional Anglican Worship
At 11:00 AM, we transition to a more traditional Anglican worship experience. This service features traditional language and hymns beautifully rendered by our full choir. On special holy days, we incorporate incense to create a spiritually enriching atmosphere.
Children Are Always Welcome We believe children are vital to our church family. They are welcome at all our church services. If you need a quiet or private space, we have a cry room located in the back of the church. We also provide busy bags in the back of the church to entertain your little ones.
Nursery for the Littlest Ones For children aged 0-4, our welcoming nursery is open from 8:15 AM to 12:00 PM every week. It's conveniently located on the breezeway facing Goodwood Blvd, ensuring that even the youngest members of our community are cared for.
Trunk or Treat:
Join us for some family-friendly Halloween fun at our upcoming event! From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, we invite you to Trunk or Treat by the school gym (off Connell's Village Lane). Wear your costumes, trick or treat down the row of cars, play carnival games for prizes, and savor some delicious food. It's a delightful way to celebrate the season together.
At St. Luke's, we strive to create a warm and inclusive community where everyone can find a place to worship, connect, and grow. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our church services and events.
