An old-fashioned “battle of the bands” featuring clergy from the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge on Thursday, June 29, starting at 6 pm. The event will be open to all and will include food, karaoke for everyone, and games for kids.
“We realized just how much musical talent we have in the diocese,” said The Very Rev. Tommy Dillon, Dean of the Baton Rouge Deanery, “and thought that putting them all together for a single evening would be a great way for people to come together and have fun.”

The bands participating will include Father Ron and Friends (The Very Rev. Ron Clingenpeel), Shadrach and the Tongues of Fire (Deacon Charlie deGravelles), and a third band featuring The Rev. Bryan Owen and the Rev. Drew Rollins. “Both Shadrach and Father Ron’s band have recordings, and both have played in secular and church venues,” Dillon said. “Father Owen, who plays bass, and Father Rollins, who plays guitar, and the rest of their group will give the other two bands a run for their money.”

Trinity Episcopal Church is located at 3551 Morning Glory in Baton Rouge. Donations will be accepted to help cover the cost of the event. For more information, email: rector@saintmargarets.com
